Visual content production
for environments that never stand still
Portside Media creates film, drone, and photography in live maritime, industrial, and corporate environments. We work inside ongoing operations — where timing shifts, conditions change, and precision matters — delivering visuals that are composed, purposeful, and built to function under real-world constraints.

Why Portside Media
-
Authorized for controlled airspace operations in Port of Rotterdam & CTR Rotterdam, Amsterdam CTR & Port of Amsterdam, and all remaining ports in the Netherlands. As well as operations in urban environments.
-
Night-flight authorization for after-dark maritime operations. Heavy-lift documentation, vessel arrivals, and time-critical projects outside daylight hours. Specialized low-light capabilities and certification beyond standard drone operations.
-
Years embedded in maritime environments—from shipyards to offshore vessels. We know vessel movements, crane operations, and safety protocols. Combined with documentary photography credentials (National Geographic, Lonely Planet), we deliver content that's both operationally sound and visually compelling.

what we do
-
FILM
Structured storytelling for maritime, industrial, and corporate communication. From concept to delivery, we plan every phase for control, clarity, and flow.
-
DRone operations
Specific Category Certified EASA drone operations for maritime, industrial, corporate and creative environments. We operate safely and efficiently where precision and permits matter most.
-
photography
Maritime, industrial, real estate stills composed with balance, texture, and technical precision.
-
timelapse
Long-duration visual documentation of projects, construction, and operations — from days to months.
HOW we operate
-

Preparation
Every project begins with detailed coordination — securing flight permits for controlled airspace (Port of Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Antwerp), coordinating with port authorities and site managers, and planning around operational constraints.
-

Adaptability
Shipping schedules shift. Weather changes. Port operations adjust. We work flexibly within live maritime environments, adapting our filming schedule without compromising safety or quality.
-

Operational Awareness
We integrate seamlessly into active sites — understanding vessel movements, crane operations, and safety protocols. From shipyards to terminals, we respect the work already in motion.
-

Clear Delivery
The result: visual content (film, drone footage, photography) that serves your communication needs — whether documentation, marketing, or stakeholder presentations.
WHERE WE OPERATE
Regular operations across Europe's major port regions
Portside Media provides drone operations, film production, and photography services throughout the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany — with regular deployments in:
Netherlands: Rotterdam, Amsterdam, IJmuiden, Vlissingen, Terneuzen, Eemshaven, Moerdijk, Harlingen, Den Helder
Belgium: Antwerp, Ghent, Zeebrugge
Germany: Hamburg, Bremen, Wilhelmshaven
Beyond coastal operations, we regularly work along Europe's inland waterway network — including the Rhine (Rijn), Meuse (Maas), and Waal river corridors. Regular deployments include inland ports and terminals in Moerdijk, Nijmegen, Werkendam, Terneuzen, Dordrecht (Netherlands), Liège, Charleroi (Belgium), and Duisburg, Mannheim, Cologne (Germany). From barge operations to inland terminals, we operate wherever cargo moves by water.
From the Port of Rotterdam to Hamburg's container terminals, we operate in active maritime environments where timing, permits, and operational coordination are critical.
Portside Media was founded by Robin Visser, a visual professional with extensive experience working in maritime and industrial environments. With a background in documentary photography, film and certified drone operations, Robin brings a calm, considered approach to complex sites where precision and timing matter. Together with industry veteran Gijs Lokker they tackle the most complex projects in the dynamic maritime and industrial world. Portside Media works with an extensive network of professionals like radio operators, photographers, editors and colorists.
The focus is simple: work seamlessly within live operations and deliver content that is visually stunning, while work reliable, composed, and effective.
